Eastern Anatolia Region

Eastern Anatolia: Eastern Anatolia is another Turkish region which is known for its harsh winters and takes up the east mountain region of the nation. The Muradiye Waterfalls are the main attraction point of this region. This is quite a big waterfall which gets completely frozen during the winter time because of the freezing temperatures that this region experiences. Visitors can come here by going north of Muradiye region which itself is located eighty km in the north of the Van region. One just has to turn off the Dogubeyazit highway to come here.

Eastern Anatolia is quite popular for its vast and lonely landscapes which cover a population of approximately six million. This is quite something considering the fact that this region alone has the area to cover four times Switzerland (leaving some room even then). This region can be reached by going through Erzurum which is the main gateway for this part of turkey and it has rail, bus and air connections for rest of the nation. Some other cities which can be used to come in (through air) include Van and Malatya. These also have railroad links with the other regions in the nation and Van also has a rail link to Iran.
