Southeastern Anatolia Region

Southeastern Anatolia Region: As its name goes, the southeastern Anatolia is a Turkish region based in the south east area of the nation and it is also known as Turkish Kurdistan for its geographical area. It is bordered on the east by Iran and on the south by Iraq and Syria. The transport services for minibus and bus are there but travelers might find themselves waiting few hours extra for the services to come. There are individual taxis and other private vehicles but they charge a lot more. Hitchhiking or taking lifts is seen to be quite useful as one can expect lifts from mostly the first vehicle as long as the main road is chosen for the travel.
It is best to travel a week in this region as a tourist could visit the entire region and touch upon all the major sights in these regions. One way to go about is starting from Sirnak all the way to Hakkari if there isn't any militant activity. One could also take detour to beytussebap and the Hbur river as the highway skirts along these areas. Moreover, one would also get view of border between Iraq and turkey and a beautiful sight of Kandil mountains.
